What does a typical grave tending visit include?
Clearing of decayed floral arrangements, debris, weeds and litter; grass and turf trimmed back; decorative aggregate tidied; vases and ornaments cleaned on site; a light cleaning of the headstone (dependent on condition) with environmentally friendly products recommended for marble, granite and Portland stone — plus a posy of fresh flowers left on the day, with your personal message if required. You also receive before-and-after photographs, by post or email.
Can I arrange a one-off visit?
Yes. A single visit is ideal when the resting place just needs a careful tidy or a seasonal tribute, or when you cannot make it yourself this time. Many families also choose a tidy-up-only visit so they can bring their own flowers on their next visit.
Do you offer regular maintenance?
Yes. You can book several visits throughout the year, evenly spread, or a planned schedule built around particular dates and anniversaries that matter to your family.
Can you visit on birthdays and anniversaries?
Very much so. Visits can be made to observe any occasion — Birthdays, Anniversaries, Mothering Sunday, Easter, Father's Day and Christmas time. Where tending is on a schedule, Vanessa will endeavour to meet the specific dates you ask for.
Do you provide before-and-after photographs?
Yes. After every tending visit a before-and-after photograph is sent to you by post or email, whichever you prefer, so you can see the care that has been taken.
Can you arrange fresh flowers?
A posy of fresh flowers is placed on the day of each visit, with your personal message if you wish. Specific arrangements, Christmas wreaths and bulb bowls are available on request — all sourced from local nurseries, florists and markets, with no plastic or cellophane used on displays.
Do you clean all types of headstones?
Yes. A light clean is included with each visit, dependent on the stone's condition, and a deeper clean is available as an additional service. Safe, effective biodegradable products are used, recommended for marble, granite and Portland stone. No mechanical cleaning methods are ever used.
What areas do you cover?
All of Rutland and the Leicestershire boroughs of Charnwood, Melton Mowbray and Oadby & Wigston, plus Leicester City. Further around the county can be considered on request.
How much does grave tending cost?
Prices for visits start from £35.00, with replacement vases from £10.00. Your final quotation depends on the location, the condition of the grave and the services you would like — contact Vanessa for a friendly chat and a clear, no-obligation quotation.
